Microchipping

     Why Microchip?

Microchipping is a permanent way to identify your pet. Identification tags can be lost or removed. Tattoos may be covered. A microchip will be a part of your pet for the rest of its life. City law now requires a microchip be implanted in all dogs, cats, and ferrets. The law only states that your pet has to be registered locally. This means that people who cannot afford national registration will still be able to comply with the law. In order to satisfy the law, your pet must have been microchipped by April 2007.

  Do we microchip?

We will microchip you cat or dog for only $10.00. Your payment must be CASH and exact change. Microchipping is generally done between 10:30 AM through 4:30 PM Tuesday through Friday at our kennel. This low cost chip does not include national registration. It takes about 10 minutes to insert the chip and fill out the paperwork. You can turn in your paperwork by getting a cooperating vet to register the chip with Animal Services or taking the information to Animal Services on Fred Wilson St. If you love your pet, it is a valuable asset and discourages theft. Microchip prices vary in El Paso based on registration and profit gain. We started the low cost program especially for those who cannot afford to pay a higher price but want to adhere to the law.

Note: We strongly encourage you to call us prior to your visit to ensure your pets will be given the care they need upon your arrival.
